INDEPENDENT MSP OVERSIGHT

You have an MSP.
Who’s managing them?

Outsourcing your IT shouldn’t mean outsourcing your judgment.

When your organization doesn’t have technical leadership in-house, it can be difficult to challenge your managed service provider’s recommendations—or know which questions to ask. Decisions about spending, security, and priorities can become a matter of taking their word for it.

We bring an independent perspective to your side of the table. We help you understand the advice you’re receiving, assess whether it fits your business, and set clear expectations for service and accountability.

CONFIDENCE STARTS WITH BETTER QUESTIONS

01

Do we need what’s being recommended?

Understand the business case, alternatives, and trade-offs before committing.

02

Are we getting the service we agreed to?

Review service commitments, reporting, and follow-through against clear expectations.

03

Who owns our risks and priorities?

Clarify responsibilities and keep technology decisions connected to your business goals.

A stronger working relationship: your MSP delivers the service, and you have experienced leadership overseeing it.

IN PRACTICE / ENTERPRISE AI LEADERSHIP

Enterprise AI is
more than a licence.

Helping a growing consumer products company bring Claude Enterprise into the workplace—with independent technology leadership, centralized access, and a practical approach to governance.

THE CHALLENGE

Move from AI experimentation to enterprise adoption.

The organization wanted employees to benefit from AI while maintaining control over corporate information and access. The rollout needed to fit its existing Google Workspace and Slack environment, support managed Windows and Mac computers, and establish responsibilities for ongoing administration.

OUR ROLE

Connect business priorities with implementation.

Ghag Consulting provided fractional CIO guidance and implementation oversight, working alongside business leadership and the existing IT provider. We helped coordinate licensing, identity management, integrations, security considerations, deployment, and the practical issues employees encountered as they adopted Claude.

01 / ENTERPRISE AI STRATEGY

A practical starting point.

Translate interest in AI into an initial rollout with defined licensing, technical prerequisites, and integration priorities.

02 / SECURITY & GOVERNANCE

Access with oversight.

Connect corporate identities and review how existing permissions, connector access, and organizational settings affect company information.

03 / IMPLEMENTATION OVERSIGHT

Keep the work connected.

Coordinate the business and its IT provider, address endpoint readiness, and help resolve barriers to employee adoption.

Explore the rollout and the GEAR™ connection

Five connected workstreams.

  1. Assess and plan

Coordinate the initial 20-licence deployment, business objectives, technical requirements, and responsibilities between the organization and its IT provider.

  2. Establish enterprise controls

Implement Google-based single sign-on and SCIM provisioning to support centralized access management, with attention to onboarding, offboarding, and licence administration.

  3. Integrate business systems

Introduce Google Workspace and Slack connectors and examine how existing permissions, group memberships, and information-sharing practices influence what employees can retrieve through AI.

  4. Deploy and validate

Coordinate desktop deployment across managed Windows and Mac devices. Investigate installation and system-permission issues, including missing Windows virtualization components required for Claude Cowork, and work with the IT provider on remediation.

  5. Govern and improve

Review organizational settings, connector behaviour, and recurring authorization prompts. Use employee feedback to identify opportunities for more consistent configuration and ongoing support.

E Evaluation

A FEW COMMON QUESTIONS

Before we
get started.

Here’s what working together can look like. Your priorities shape the engagement.

Have another question?
We already have an IT provider. How would you work with them?

We work alongside your existing managed service provider (MSP). They handle day-to-day IT services and technical implementation; we help you set priorities, evaluate recommendations, clarify responsibilities, and connect that work to your business goals.

The aim is a productive working relationship, with independent advice on your side of the table and clear expectations for everyone involved.

How is a fractional CIO different from IT support?

IT support keeps people and systems working. A fractional CIO helps leadership decide where technology should take the business, which investments deserve attention, and how risks and responsibilities should be managed.

We bring that leadership perspective through planning, governance, budgeting, provider oversight, and guidance on important technology decisions.

What happens in the first conversation?

We discuss your business priorities, your current technology environment, and what prompted you to reach out. You can bring a specific concern or simply describe where you need more clarity.

The initial conversation is complimentary. If there’s a fit, we’ll discuss an appropriate next step and agree on the scope before work begins.

Can we start with a single assessment or project?

Yes. You can begin with a focused technology assessment or advisory support for a specific initiative. Ongoing fractional CIO support is also available when your organization needs continuing leadership.

We’ll shape the engagement around the problem you need to solve and agree on the deliverables and working arrangement together.

How are fees and scope determined?

Fees depend on the scope, complexity, and level of involvement the engagement requires. After understanding your needs, we’ll agree on the work, deliverables, responsibilities, and fees before the engagement begins.

The engagement options above are starting points for that discussion.

Can you help us introduce AI into the business?

Yes. We can help you assess business use cases, review security and access considerations, coordinate with your IT provider, and plan a practical rollout.

The focus includes governance, employee adoption, and ongoing ownership alongside implementation. See how that approach supported an enterprise AI rollout.
